FACTION: Jun's small-time cult/street gang "The Masquerade."

ABILITIES: Thanks to Yurei's experimentation, Jun shares his body (some might say "is possessed by") a rather horrific spirit known as Nyarlathotep. This entity manifests around Jun protectively, a clawed monster with a black and white motif, reversed knees, a blank mask-like face adorned with only a ghoulish grin and a sickly yellow heart-shaped tattoo on it's chest which appears to bleed and is "stabbed through" with multiple sharp implements. Nyarly allows Jun to do such things as fly and teleport, tear apart his enemies with wind and it can reach out physically to simply rend his opponents limb from limb.




PERSONALITY: Kurosu Jun is that boy that everyone at school knows about, but no one really KNOWS. You kind of want to know him, he's just so PRETTY and you know he can smile ever so sweetly, but you stay away because of those stories you've heard. People who get close to him end up hurt, people have disappeared thanks to him, he hangs out with creepy adults after school, the police don't dare to get near him because his parents are criminal lords, etc. He keeps to himself and doesn't appear to have any desire to get close to anyone, and this is enough to keep anyone from learning too much about him...

Jun is a roiling ball of contradictions. He's unstable and creepy, but has a good heart and a genuinely sweet disposition towards those he cares about. He doesn't have a terribly high opinion of himself, yet he reacts violently when threatened. He tends to push people away, yet has an abandonment complex the size of Mt. Fuji. He's antisocial, yet desperately wants someone to love him.

He's beautiful, manipulative, cold and logical. He will use people and throw them away. However those people who are truly close to Jun knows that he is fiercely protective and loyal. All other people, though, are expendable.

Ironically, he truly does love HUMANITY, just not people in general. He is an idealist and an eternal optimist who thinks that everyone, EVERYONE, deserves to have their dreams come true and that every single person is worthy of living in an ideal world. For these reasons he dislikes killing anyone, even if Nyarlathotep is hard to hold back at times. For these reasons he put together a cult of sorts, using his natural charisma and looks and his doctrine of transforming Tokyo into Idealian, a utopia where everyone's personal heavens interact. The cult isn't very large or strong, a street gang really. It's called The Masquerade in homage to the masked games Jun would play with his friends when he was younger.

Jun also has a feminine side to him, not surprising considering his demeanor and looks, surprising when one considers how ruthless and cold he can be. He's a talented cook and likes to keep things tidy and stylishly arranged when he can. He knows his astrology and fortune telling and several systems of flower language, Victorian French being his favorite. He even likes to invent things in his free time, like orthopedic slippers for housewives called "diet sandals." (No fooling.) He's very good with makeup as well, able to crossdress and look prettier than many girls. It doesn't hurt that he's gay either.

The most important thing to remember about Jun when dealing with him is that he is a sweet and beautiful person who has been twisted over his short lifetime into a cold and bitter individual, and that he is crazy. Insane in that indefinable way in which he thinks differently from other people and can't help it. He's the quiet one, the lonely loner with a gang behind him and he possesses power he will readily use to make everyone's dreams come true.

HISTORY:
-Born to an impulsive young couple, a handsome schoolteacher and a beautiful actress, out of wedlock.
-The couple are married in a shotgun wedding. Junko, Jun's mother, refuses to change her name and demands that Jun take her last name. Her husband agrees, not willing to upset their delicate marriage.
-Jun grows up with parents who REALLY shouldn't have gotten married. They fight constantly. He blames himself sometimes and runs away a lot to play with his friends.
-Jun's father commits suicide(?) by flinging himself into the gears of the school clocktower, being crushed to death. Junko takes on a series of younger boyfriends and leaves Jun alone at home a lot. Jun starts staying at his friends' houses more often than his own.
-Tragedy. While playing in the old shrine with his friends, it catches fire and kills his beloved older sister figure, who he saw as an ideal mother to him. Outwardly he blames them for her death, inwardly he blames himself.
-Junko moves them to another part of the city and proceeds to abandon her son again in a new school district with no friends. He becomes delinquent and violent, beating up and manipulating older kids and adults.
-Junko is responsible for allowing Yurei to experiment on her son, who she sees as little more than a nuisance. At 12, Jun's power awakens due to the experimentation and Nyarlathotep comes into being.
-Jun gets loose and lives on the streets, taking his manipulation and intimidation of people to new heights. Nyarlathotep's power ensures that regular gangsters no longer pose a threat to him.
-At age 16 Jun juggles school with the creation of his own cult with the objective of making the utopia of Idealian a reality. He lives out of his "headquarters," an abandoned nightclub called Zodiac that he and his cultists cleaned up and reopened.
-Age 17, present day. Jun hardly attends school, busy as he is with his work with the Masquerade. Only made up of a few dozen people, he still feels that they will be able to fix things as long as he is at it's head.
